Fly-fishing in Montana.

To say fly-fishing in Montana is a passion for many anglers is not a stretch.  The more avid of this crowd are busy preparing and planning for their next trip to trout-filled rivers in Montana, even as they pack up and leave from the year earlier.

Most agree, many Montana rivers are very good for fly-fishing.  Among the best are the Madison River near Ennis; the Gallatin River near Bozeman; the Yellowstone River near Livingston; the Big Hole River near Melrose; Little Bighorn River near Hardin; the Bitterroot River near Missoula; and the Missouri River near Helena.

Numerous guide services are ready to help make your fishing trip an enjoyable and productive experience.  Fly-fishing shops are important, too, for stocking up on gear and supplies you’ll need.  These fly-fishing shops are strategically located near all the major fly-fishing rivers.  All so convenient.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks regulates fishing in Montana.  Read up on their Web site at:  FWP.   There’s even a Montana trout Web page for kids.

As for hot tips, you may not need any to find where the trout are hitting.  Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Cutthroat Trout, and more are so abundant in Montana’s rivers.  Toss out the fly and haul them in.  That’s Montana fly-fishing!
