Tuscaloosa Hotels – The Three Best

For a mid-sized city, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, has more than its share of hotels. Most of the hotels, however, are standard chain operations. A room but not much more.

But Tuscaloosa has a few very, very nice premium hotels, too. As home to The University of Alabama, you’d expect the market would support some premium hotels.

In rank order, the best at No. 1:

  • No. 1: The Alamite. A upscale 112-room boutique hotel with all the amenities, including restaurants, bar, and fitness room. The Alamite has a classic hotel vibe. The Alamite is located in the heart of Tuscaloosa’s vibrant downtown and only a few blocks from the campus of The University of Alabama. The Alamite opened in September 2022. 2301 6TH Street, Tuscaloosa, Alabama
  • No. 2: AC Hotel Another upscale hotel. Restaurant, bar, and fitness room on site. Located in the downtown area of Tuscaloosa, and a few blocks from The University of Alabama. The decor of this hotel has a modern vibe. Opened in 2023. 2585 6TH ST, Tuscaloosa, Alabama
  • No. 3: Residence Inn by Marriot. This hotel opened in 2022. it ranks highly because it is in a quiet suburban area of Tuscaloosa, northeast of downtown and The University of Alabama. Urban Cookhouse is nearby for dining. The location of the hotel is not far from The University of Alabama and downtown Tuscaloosa. A very nice hotel. 211 Rice Mine Road Loop, Tuscaloosa
  • Three more hotels in the downtown area of Tuscaloosa are in tier two. All three are a great place to stay. And all are close to restaurants and The University of Alabama.

Hotel Indigo. 111 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Tuscaloosa. 2410 University Boulevard, Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Homewood Suites by Hilton. 2451 Jack Warner Parkway West, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
